On December 1, 2023, Channel Fish Processing, along with an Alaska-based seafood company, split $1.75M in Alaska pollock contracts awarded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Channel Fish company will supply $988,559 worth of frozen pollock fish sticks to children served by the National School Lunch Program. This will provide delicious and healthy U.S.-caught seafood meals to children nationwide.

This award is the USDA’s first Alaska pollock purchase of the 2024 school year. Last year, the department purchased over 25.5 million pounds of products valued at $68.5 million.

Channel Fish will deliver the products to cities in Massachusetts, Texas, Washington, Pennsylvania, and Oregon. With the Channel Fish brand fish sticks, children K-12 served by the National School Lunch Program will receive hot, healthy meals so they can continue to learn and grow.

For over 74 years, the Zaffiro family has provided the highest quality North Atlantic seafood. Channel Fish has grown and developed from a local Boston fish processor of Cod and Haddock to a nationwide seafood distributor, providing a wide variety of fresh and frozen seafood products.
